Someone we should remember
Tell us about a service member who died in the line of duty, or who is still missing. We write these carefully, with families rather than about them, and we verify every name against the official record before we publish.
Who can be remembered here
A member of the United States military, and one of these.
- Died in the line of duty. Combat or not — a training accident, illness on deployment and a loss at home while serving all count. Deaths unrelated to service do not.
- Missing in action for more than five years.
You don't need to prove any of this. We verify against the official casualty record ourselves. Please don't send documents; we won't keep them.
